Made for everyone

This site is meant to work for every visitor, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, voice control or high contrast.

How this site is built

Every page uses plain, well-structured HTML with proper headings, landmarks and labels, so screen readers can move through it the way a sighted reader scans it. A "Skip to content" link appears as the first keyboard stop on every page, and every link, button and control shows a visible focus ring.

Every photograph carries written alt text describing what is in the picture. Text and background colors meet the contrast levels of WCAG 2.2 AA in both the light and dark themes, and the site follows your system's choice of theme, text size and reduced motion. When reduced motion is on, nothing on the page animates.

The site carries no advertising and sets no cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, does not follow you to other sites and collects no personal information. Videos from YouTube load only after you press play.

Documents and video

The biography PDFs are tagged for screen readers. Any document here can be supplied in large print, plain text or audio, and a transcript of any video can be provided, by writing to [email protected].

Tell us what is not working

If any part of this site is hard to use, please say so. Write to [email protected] with the page address and what happened, and it will be looked at promptly. Priscilla Garces has lived with visual impairment since birth; access is not an afterthought here, it is the point.
